Air conditioning in the summer isn’t optional. Well, it’s not optional if you want to be able to enjoy the summer or be productive in any way. Sure, there are plenty of high powered fans you could buy, but you’re going to spend a lot of money on the bills that it takes to keep them running. Having air conditioning is the best way to go. That means not just having an air conditioner, but making sure that it’s running right, too. Here at Air Pro Master, we can make sure your AC is going strong. If it isn’t, then we can provide the kind of AC replacement that will help you in this summer and the summers to come.
When AC Renewal is Necessary
To be clear, just because you call us in to look at a problem or concern you have about your AC, that doesn’t mean that we’re going to recommend that you get a whole new unit. Our first option is always to repair, to provide maintenance. We know that your AC is important, but we also don’t want you to have to get a new unit unless it’s an absolute last resort. So, when our professionals come to your location, they’ll do everything that they can to get your AC unit working how you want it to. Then, should that prove impossible, they’ll explore options for replacement.
At Air Pro Master, we’ve been working with many different AC units for several years. That means we know basically all there is to know about each brand and model. We know what kind of AC unit will be right for your location, whether it’s a home, office, or anywhere else. Moreover, we know what works best at what price point, too. Most people don’t budget for getting a new AC unit, and we understand that. That’s why we work with our customers to find a solution that’s right for their budget. After all, it’s hard to feel comfortable even in air conditioning if you had to spend an uncomfortable amount of money to be able to do so. We can find something that works for budgets of all kinds.
Signs it Might be Time to Renewal
Most of us realize that our AC unit isn’t right when it stops working. That’s obviously the clearest sign. Once your air conditioner stops providing you with cold air or starts actively blowing hot or warm air, you know you have to bring in someone to look at it. We know it’s normal to try to prevent this, to just figure “it’ll work itself out.” However, it’s one thing to say that when it’s seventy degrees in the middle of April, it’s something else to say than when it’s 111 in July. To make sure that your air conditioning is there when you need it, it’s important to call in our pros to look at it once it starts blowing hot air.
Another common, yet often overlooked sign that an air conditioner needs replaced is that the airflow has gotten weak. If you’re getting cold air, but you aren’t getting much of it, or it’s barely coming through, then it makes sense to call in the professionals. That could be a sign of a larger problem. Or, it could also be the sign of an imminent larger problem that could strike when you least expect it. Again, the time to call in our pros is when it’s still blowing cold air, just not as much as you’d like. That way, we can find the problem and fix it (no matter what that takes, up to and including replacement) before your AC completely stops working on a day when it’s 115 in August.
You check your energy bill, always making sure that you’re paying the right amount. If you see a spike that you can’t explain, then it’s probably time to call in our experts. In the Vegas area, it’s normal to pay more for energy during the warm summer months. In all likelihood, that’s when you’re running the most AC, so you’re using a lot of power. However, if you see a truly eye-popping number, then something’s probably wrong. It’s normal to pay more during the summer, it’s not normal to pay a lot more.
When you see a number that’s abnormal, we recommend giving us a call. See, often when an AC unit is breaking down or has some other kind of problem, it causes the electric bill to just shoot through the roof. Once it’s fixed or replaced, then your bills will return to normal. This is one way that maintenance or even replacement can help you to save money. While you may pay a few more bucks up front to get the system put in or even repaired, you won’t have to pay those exorbitant energy bills month after month. We see it as one more way that we can help our customers.
Trust your Instincts
Human beings developed our instincts over millennia for a reason: they keep us safe. For example, you know that if something smells bad, you should avoid it. No one wants to be around a bad smell. This is true of everything in life, but it’s also important in regards to your air conditioner as well. When your air conditioner smells bad, something’s wrong. We’ve had customers over the years who call us in to look at an air conditioner that has completely stopped working. When we ask them: “did you see any signs,” they’ll either mention at the end (or completely forget until later) that a terrible odor was emanating from the air conditioner.
If any other appliance of yours, or part of your home or office started smelling bad, you’d investigate it immediately. You would know that something is wrong and act accordingly. However, for some reason, sometimes people are loathe to do the same with air conditioners. So, for the record, if there’s a bad smell coming from your air conditioner, it needs to be dealt with. As it’s almost assuredly a sign that something has gone wrong inside the air conditioner itself, our pros can come in and fix it. If they can’t, then we’ll work with you on a replacement.
By that same token, just as a foul odor is a sign that something is wrong with your air conditioning, the same is true of loud noises. Air conditioners should just make a bit of noise at most. They shouldn’t make loud, banging noises. If your air conditioner is making too much noise, then again, something is wrong. As with the odor, this is a sign that you should do something about your air conditioner. That’s where we can help.
Many air conditioners are built to last. The companies that make them know that people are going to want to hold onto them for a long time, so they make them to be sturdy and durable. However, even the most powerful air conditioners have a shelf life. For the most part, if your air conditioner is over ten years old, it’s probably time to get it looked at by someone. Sure, it might be running now, but over that lengthy period of time, your air conditioner has probably run down to the point that it should be looked at fairly frequently.
